Annual Fund boys
What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is an appeal made each year to every single member of the Sherborne family of parents, Old Shirburnians and other friends of the School and the Foundation.

Its aim is to provide the resources to fund modest and achievable projects and bursaries every year which will enhance and broaden the life and educational development of our boys.


The Foundation hopes to encourage as many as possible to participate by making a gift that is manageable for them.  Every donation will help us to make a real difference.  In 2009/10 there is an opportunity to direct your support in one of two ways - bursaries or sport - both projects that are at the heart of life at Sherborne.

    Bursaries - Sherborne is looking to expand the bursary programme to provide substantial aid for many more boys (click here for details)

    Sport - The Sports Coaching Fund is the first stage in Paul Miles' (Director of Sport) vision for the development of sport at Sherborne (click here for details)


How much should I give?

You should give as much you feel comfortable giving. Participation is the key, not the level of generosity. Gifts can be single or spread over the year through paying monthly by direct debit. Given tax effectively through the Gift Aid system, the value of your gift can be increased by over 28% and, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, the actual cost to you can be further reduced (click here to see how).
