Sherborne's First Foundation Fellows from Princeton University

Thanks to the generosity of many Old Shirburnians and other supporters, the School has been able to appoint two Foundation Fellows for the academic year 2011/12. Thomas Maltbaek and Praise Oh (pictured) arrived in Sherborne in September, each bringing with them a wealth of academic and sporting achievements and experiences which the boys will be able to tap into during the year.
Praise graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Princeton in May this year. As part of her course, she spent a year at Worcester College, Oxford, where, alongside her studies, she played on the ladies’ rugby team. At Princeton, she played in the first violin section in the University Sinfonia Orchestra, and since 2008 has undertaken the role of Writing Fellow giving student conferences and offering mentoring on writing skills.
When not studying for his BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Thomas spent his spare time at Princeton playing squash and leading groups of youngsters on rock climbing, hiking and outdoor trips. He is also a keen football player and athlete.
Sherborne welcomes both Fellows in the Michaelmas term and will be watching with interest how the boys will benefit from their energy and breadth of knowledge throughout the year.
