Fives Courts

Fives CourtsIt's strange how one disaster can lead to a new beginning. Following an unexpected report from the School's health and safety inspection over the state of the Fives Courts' roof, the Foundation established a taskforce under the leadership of Anthony Howland Jackson. This taskforce raised funds for a new roof, improved lighting, full redecoration and heating.

The newly-refurbished courts were opened by Mr Howland Jackson at a ceremony in October 2001 at which all the donors to the project were represented. A plaque was erected to commemorate the refurbishment.

Since its completion the University Fives and West of England championships have been to Sherborne, and more importantly, the numbers of boys playing Fives has increased.
