| How the Foundation Operates |
The Sherborne School Foundation has absorbed all the functions of previous School appeals and the Development Office. It works from offices rented from the School and situated above the Custos' Lodge. The Foundation operates with a staff of three comprising the Head of the Foundation, an Officer and an Administrator. The Foundation maintains a comprehensive database of Old Shirburnians, Parents and other friends, and this is available to anyone connected to the School for non-commercial purposes, consistent with individual consent and Data Protection obligations. Having absorbed the records of previous School appeals and campaign donors, the Foundation regards all such supporters as its own, and is committed to keeping them informed of its activities and performance. The Foundation organises reunions and meetings of Shirburnians at the School, throughout the UK and abroad. It provides logistical support for the Old Shirburnian Society, and works closely with School staff to assist with, amongst other events, House reunions, society meetings, careers support and contributes to the cost of sports tours. Trustees are elected for a period of three years whereupon they must retire or submit themselves for re-election. Elections take place at the Annual General Meeting. The Foundation's accounts are published on this website and are available for inspection at its offices at any time. It is the policy of the Trustees that the Foundation be open, transparent, accountable and responsive. Any supporter or other friend of the School is invited to contact the Head of the Foundation if they have any concerns. |
