Ed Moorhouse Fund
Edward Moorhouse (f, 1990) was a Shirburnian who had a glittering Sherborne career as an academic, actor, chapel warden and playwright. Subsequently he was a successful Morehead scholar at Chapel Hill University in North Carolina, USA. Sadly, Edward died from cancer in 2006.
James Vitali (2014,f, pictured on the far left) attended the International Boys' School Coalition Conference (IBSC) in the summer of 2013. He said:
"I am really grateful to have had the chance to attend the Conference as it has taught me some crucial lessons not only about ensuring I make the most of the opportunities that Sherborne can offer me, but also, and perhaps more personally, to remember that we are now in a global society and our School is projecting onto the International stage.
My attendance at the Conference will, I hope, strengthen my University application by demonstrating to admissions tutors that I have the skills of diligence and leadership required to make valuable contributions to society in the future.
Moreover, this experience will aid me in my application for scholarships to America to study by identifying that I have a globally orientated outlook, and that I am prepared to act on this outlook."
This fund closed after running for three years as planned and raising funds for highly talented boys to take enrichment courses. We are grateful to everyone who supported this fund. Thank you
