Academic Festivals

Four successful festivals have taken place so far, three literary festivals (2012, 2014 and 2016), and a bumper science festival in October 2015.

From 10 - 15 October 2016, the successful literary festival called The Sherborne Sessions, a biennial festival of good writing first run in 2012, was held at the School, thanks again to support from the Foundation's Annual Fund.  Novelists, film-makers, comedians, musicians, poets and journalists shared their insights and tricks with the audiences, who were largely made up of students from the Sherborne Schools (including Sherborne Girls, Leweston and The Gryphon).  Guest speakers included Old Shirburnian, critic and Associate Editor at The Observer Robert McCrum, BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Asitha Amereskere and writer and comedian Paul Kerensa.
