Charles Eglington (g, 1956)

We are profoundly sad to report the death of Charles Eglington (g, 1956), a Foundation Trustee and one of the founding Trustees in 1999.  Charles was a long time supporter of both the School and the Foundation as well as an active member of the OS community and held many posts with the OSS, Sherborne Pilgrims and OS Golf Society.  He also served unstintingly as a Governor of the School from 1969 to 2008.  While at the School he was captain of the 1st XI cricket for two years and a member of the 1st XI hockey.

Our thoughts at this time are with his brothers, Michael and Walter, and the Eglington family.

The Chairman of the Foundation, John Pocock (f, 1978) says of Charles:

"He was a man who was completely committed to the success of Sherborne and throughout his life gave generously to the School through both his time and his resources.  We will miss his valuable wisdom as a Trustee of the Foundation."
